and a 10/15 min walk to reading west station and the McDonald's/Lidl next to it. The place is about a 25 min walk to Reading Festival so it wasn't too far away. Parking facilities were great and we didn't need to worry about parking permits or parking on street. And the boiler was slightly slow in heating up for a shower in the morning.

The only minus was that there weren't any trays in the oven for me to cook a pizza properly.

The kitchen had a washing machine and dishwasher on top of the usual electric hob, oven and fridge. the stay was very comfortable - fans were also provided in the main bedroom and lounge. The apartment itself was very spacious and easily accommodated the three of us (2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge). He also showed me where to pick up the keys to my apartment as the instructions were not very clear (its the first set of apartments on 2 Castle Crescent). I arrived early but check-in was after 4pm so the property manager stored my bag and transferred it to my apartment after it had been cleaned. Bathrooms feature showers with rainfall showerheads and designer toiletries.Ġ.77km from The Facebar I booked this place for Reading Festival weekend and after some problems with the booking process (double charged, then told booking would not be honoured due to change in pricing, and then actually honoured), I am happy to report it was a pleasant stay and the customer service was great. Not even a ”sorry to hear that” let alone any offer of compensation by reducing the bill. And this was in the £340 a night Rocket suite! Girl on duty's response - ”I will tell maintenance”.

I had to take the plastic inner from the waste bin in the bathroom and fill it with water in the sink and then tip it into the toilet to get rid of our waste. As for the toilet, the very least I demand of any hotel room is that I get a functioning toilet. As it was the hottest day on record yesterday, we had to try to sleep with a tiny window open to get any air, which of course (in a city centre) was noisy. On the other hand, the girl on duty this morning obviously could not give a toss when I reported that our air conditioning did not work and our toilet did not flush. He not only found me some additional pillows and brought them to the room very quickly, but he also booked a cab for us to our restaurant at the Oracle. You have to park in a long stay car park at the Railway Station, which is a good 7 or 8 minutes walk away, and carry your luggage to the hotel yourself. You cannot even stop just outside to set passengers down or drop luggage as it is entirely surrounded by double RED lines - no stopping at any time. 0.49km from The Facebar Awful location right in centre of Reading where there is absolutely NO PARKING anywhere near the hotel.
